Badin Sunday Wildcat Turnout Will Decide Future Events
December 13, 2009

Depending on how many anglers show up and how much interest there is in a winter wildcat series on Badin, a new assault on bass on the lake may be in the making. According to organizer David Myers, if those who turnout are interested in fishing on Sundays through the winter months, the gathering could grow to a weekly or bi-weekly event.

Myers and Bobby Conner have put the first event together to determine if there is enough fishing fever left to brave the colder months. Most clubs have shut down for the season and lakes remain busy as anglers go it alone. According to Myers, he will talk with anglers on December 13 to see if and how they would like to proceed. “A lot of us don't have a bunch of time to fish in the summer months, but winter is a bit easier,” he noted.

The group will use the Circle Drive Landing and plan to blast off at 11 AM and return for a 4 PM weigh in. Cost to join in is $30 per event. That fee includes a $10 Big Fish fee. If less than fifteen boats show up, first, second and Big Fish will be paid out. Fifteen or more teams will mean a third place spot will pay. Either one or two anglers are allowed per boat and a five-fish limit will be used.
