Atkin And Eads Top 13 Boat Blue Ridge Field
March 20, 2010
It was a day when you could almost walk from one end of Badin to the other just by stepping from bass boat to bass boat. A small piece of that fishing attack was the Blue Ridge Bass Anglers as thirteen of the club's teams struck off from the Circle Drive landing. Unlike other clubs that roared off down the lake at blast off, many Blue Ridge teams idled only a few hundred yards to begin working the upper west banks.
Taking advantage of the earliest bite of the season, members used soft plastics, flipping banks and hauling bass into livewells in just the first couple hours. Their 3:30 weigh in showed the strategy paid off.
Don Atkin and Will Eads managed a top showing with 15.88 pounds. They also hauled in the top fish, a 6.91 monster. Second placers Randy Fouler and Heath Toller found 13.96 pounds, while Kenneth Galyean and Gene Johnson scored 11.92 pounds. Fourth placers Mike Scott, president, and Chris Johnson weighed in 11.89 pounds.
The club begins its season in late February and ends with a two-day event on Lake Murray June 12 and 13. Their next event is scheduled for April 3 on High Rock.
