Monroe Bass Teams Cast Tuckertown

Seven boats from the Monroe Bassmasters traveled to Tuckertown Reservoir this past Saturday to make their mark, but the bass proved to be a tough quarry. Slow water and hot temperatures added to their woes.
The Monroe group fishes an individual competition and uses a five-fish limit. Anglers blasted off shaortly after safelight and returned to the scales at 2 PM.
It was a day for presidents as the group's leader tackled the bass best. Jason Gulledge was able to find 7 pounds 13 ounces to be first on the list of participants. Second place winner, D.A. Davis missed top honors by 8 ounces with a bag weight of 7 pounds 5 ounces. He did net Big Fish honors for the day with a 5 pounder.
The club meets monthly on the first Monday and fishes the following Saturday. Their next stop is at Wateree September 5th. For more information about the club, contact Jason Gulledge at jjgulledge@hotmail.com.
